| CHARLIE LOWNES, HEAD COACH |
Charlie is a 16-time NCAA all-American swimmer and
an all-American at Hebron Academy in Maine.
Charlie began coaching at Paul Hanna Swim Club in
Granville, OH. There he coached several top 16
swimmers and a top 25 world ranked swimmer.
While in the Peace Corps, 1988 - 1991, he coached
the Guatemalan National Swim Team. From 1991 -
1995 he coached high school and club teams in
Cincinnati.
Charlie has been with the team since 1995. He can usually be found at the University School, Hunting Valley pool. However, he tries to visit all locations as often as possible. Charlie was voted Coach of the Year, 2002-2003 for Ohio High School swimming. He currently coaches the John Carroll University swim team. | PETE FINEFROCK, ASSISTANT HEAD COACH |
![]() Coach Pete started swimming for the original Berea Swim Club in 1961 and competed for Berea High School in the 100 back and 200 IM. He swam for the College of Wooster where he was a two time captain, competing predominately in the 200 back and 200 IM. Pete was the school record holder in those events for several years. Pete began coaching in Wooster, Ohio the summer of 1967 for the Wooster Swim Club, and in winter, the YMCA team in Wooster for the next several years. He then returned to coaching in 1996 as Middle School coach for Hathaway Brown and assistant coach for University Swim Club. Currently Pete is the
